Everyone welcome, a special welcome to our friends at the Mandell JCC. Come
and experience the
casual atmosphere, music and magic that Shir Hamakom is known for
during this special service welcoming the Sabbath.
With a guitar, a bundle of energy, and a charming repertoire of
irresistible songs, multi award-winning recording artists Peter
& Ellen Allard lead a Fabulous Family Shabbat service that will
have everyone, young and old alike, singing and dancing and laughing
and celebrating the joy and spirit of Shabbat.
Join Internationally aclaimed musicians, Peter and Ellen Allard, as
they
invite you to participate in an interactive worship experience that
will touch your heart from the moment the first note is sung. Peter
& Ellen have captured the hearts and smiles of audiences at
synagogues, religious schools, preschools, educational conferences, and
festivals throughout the United States. They have released nine
recordings, numerous songbooks, and have won nine awards, including two
Parents' Choice awards, a Parent's Guide to Children's Media award, and
six Children's Music Web awards.
This
special Shabbat music
worship will blend Shir Hamakom's familiar music with the unique and
interactive music of the Allards.

Peter and Ellen Allard are a
unique musican duo who have been
performing nationally and internationally since 1994. Beyond
their stellar musical performance talent, they are gifted songwriters
and they bring a knowledge and love of theater and dance to comfortably
involve their audiences to participate in their music. They
are
best known for their work with young children and family worship, and
have recently expanded their programs to invite and involve worshipers
of all ages. Be prepared for a dynamic music and worship
experience at Shir Hamakom that you will long remember.
Shir
Hamakom is a
Jewish music
worship
community based on song and celebration in Creater Hartford
Connecticut. We were established in 2009 by
a dozen families
looking to rekindle their Jewish spirituality with community worship,
music and learning that excites the mind and ignites the soul.
We
blend the traditional with the new, always with music, capturing a
vital new Jewish spirit.
Our focus is re-examining traditional Jewish prayer, using contemporary
song and new music, often a blend of the original Hebrew with
interpretive English lyrics. If you re familiar
with the
prayers, you'll feel energized and at home, if they are new to you,
you'll feel welcome by the warm culture and our spirit and
music.
