| Join
us for the most meaningful, memorable and musical High Holy
Day services that you've ever experienced.

Since May 2009, the Shir Hamakom community has celebrated Shabbat in a
casual atmophere with guest musicians and spirited song. This
year, join us for High Holy Day music worship that reveals the spirit
and meaning of this season in song, celebrating this season with music
and the warmth of our community. We look forward to welcoming
you, your family and friends.
Casual Music Worship
that
Celebrates Life and Tradition
Led
by our worship
leader, Arnie
Davidson,
and guest Cantor
Robin
Sparr-Rothman, we will
journey
together through the Yamim
Nora'im (Days of Awe) with a blend of traditional and
contemporary music that will engage your senses and ignite your spirit
in the informal and down-to-earth setting for which Shir Hamakom is
known. Dr.
Eileen Ain,
jazz flutist from New York City, will
again share the warmth and soul of her music with us and Eugene Rothman
will add rhythm to our worship with his tasteful percussion.
We
will use a
specially prepared Machzor
(High Holy Day prayerbook) to encourage your participation and
reflection. All of our prayers are
translated and transliterated to invite your participation,
regardless of your Hebrew background - everyone is equal and all are
welcome. Join us to hear the seasonal call of the shofar (ram's
horn), explore the traditional music and prayers in a fresh and vital
setting with friends and family, and draw the meaning of this season
into your heart with spirited song.
Our
High Holy Day
worship will take place in central Glastonbury. We would love
to have bountiful and free space for all to worship, but due to space
limitations, we ask that you please register early to assure a seat at
our music worship. High Holy Day passes are a benefit for our Mishpacha
and Shomrim
Hamakom (Shir Hamakom members). Additional passes
will be available for guests and students. (Shir Hamakom Mishpacha
membership
is open to all, regardless of financial circumstances.) Click
here to register online - your support of Shir Hamakom is tax
deductible.
